Concert for large cowbell and home electronics

It’s not easy to find a really quiet place on this earth any more.
Everyday noise drowns out the silence in even the remotest of corners.
Hold a shell to your ear and hear the murmur of the sea!
Put a cowbell over your head and hear the murmur of the Alpine pastures!
If it were completely quiet, there wouldn’t be any murmur either: the resonating body of the cowbell amplifies certain ambient frequencies, while damping others. The amplified frequencies add up in this microcosm to create the murmur of Alpine pastures.

Will silence soon exist only in our sound archives?

Es ist nicht mehr leicht einen ganz ruhigen Platz auf dieser Erde zu finden.
Alltagslärm überlagert die Stille im entlegensten Winkel.
Halten Sie eine Muschel an Ihr Ohr und Sie hören das Meer rauschen!
Stülpen Sie sich eine Kuhglocke über den Kopf und sie hören die Alm rauschen!
Wäre es ganz still dann würde es auch nicht rauschen: Die Resonanzkammer der Kuhglocke verstärkt bestimmte Frequenzen der Umgebung und dämpft andere ab. Die verstärkten Frequenzen addieren sich in diesem Mikrokosmos zum Almrauschen.

Gibt es die Stille bald nur mehr in unseren Klang-Archiven?
